Be Flexible & Take Your Holidays in Low Season

It is possible to save up to 50% on a holiday if you’re not too fussy about when you go. Low season special deals are always available because travel agents and tour operators would rather make a small profit than no profit at all. If you know where to look and you’re not restricted to certain months you can often pick up a fantastic holiday abroad for less than you’d pay for a week in Skegness!

Holidaying According to the Months
The majority of families with children choose to book their annual holidays during the months that the kids aren’t in school. If this is you then you might want to think about booking a holiday to a destination that is in the low season at the time. During the main school holidays places like Thailand, Mexico and other exotic destinations are in their low season and you can get between 30-50% off family holidays there. Alternatively you can holiday during the other school holidays, such as Easter or Christmas and many places around the world are low season during these times. Even the half term holidays can be used and you can often get great deals in the UK for these weeks as well as deals abroad.

If you don’t have the worry of children though you are probably more flexible with when you can travel. This means that you can choose a destination that you want to visit and make a point of booking during the low season.

Holidaying According to Location
If you have a specific location in mind then you need to find out when the high season ends and the low season begins. Different countries have different high and low seasons, obviously, and this means that while the month of July may be high season in Florida, it will also be low season in the Austrian Alps. You should choose where you want to go and look for a holiday that is just outside of the peak season – that way you pay a lot less but all the attractions will still be open to see.

If however you don’t want to go abroad then holidaying in the UK during the low season can be equally as fun and a lot cheaper than during the peak season times. Caravan holidays in April/May or September/October are often half the price of the same holiday in July and August. All the seaside attractions are open during these times and the weather is normally as good as it’s going to get so why not go a month early or a month late and save up to 50% on the price?

Wherever you decide to go in the world it is always cheaper during the low season and so if you have the flexibility to go whenever you want then why not take advantage of the savings – and have more to spend when you’re there.
